Started career with UK-based holiday tour operator, Blue Sky Holidays, in reservations area before transferring to operations. In operations dealt with flight over-bookings and cancellations, sale of surplus seats as well as maintaining accurate copies of all flying contracts and production of company wide flying schedules, regular contact with various airlines. Transferred to British Caledonian Airways (BCAL) in 1984, to the unit responsible for promoting and disseminating BCAL's flying schedules through print and electronic media, requiring regular liaison with all major departments in the airline. Worked briefly for Servisair, a ground handling agent, in the flight enquires part of the operations department.

Joined Jane's in 1990 as assistant editor of Jane's World Airlines, quickly expanding the range and depth of content before becoming editor in 1992. Have since overseen the conversion of the title from hard copy to other mediums as well as continuing the expansion of the range of information offered, predominantly in electronic formats.

Took part in a major company customer and non-customer research project by Jane's as part of a small team undertaking interviews and in-house work shop sessions. Overseen successful production of a number of Jane's special reports.
